Robbers take P2M from express forwarder firm in Legazpi City
LEGAZPI CITY –– Armed robbers took with them a vault containing P2 million in cash after ransacking on Monday morning an express forwarder office in this city, a police report said.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said at least five armed robbers barged into the business establishment located at Barangay Cruzada around 4 a.m.
Guilbert Belo, 29, the firm’s delivery man, told the police that he discovered Sonny Sacueza, the security guard on duty, tied, blindfolded, and with his mouth duct-taped at the guardhouse at 4:10 a.m.
Sacueza told the police that the robbers, who were wearing bonnets, took his caliber .38 service firearm and cellphone and tied him up before entering the warehouse and taking the cash vault.
Police have yet to determine the identities of the suspects as the investigation continues.
