4 slain in Maguindanao ambush
COTABATO CITY—Four persons were killed in an ambush Saturday afternoon in Dari Anggal Midtimbang town, Maguindanao, police said.
In his report to the police provincial office, Police Staff Sgt. Michael U. Lacsasa, investigator on case, said the victims were onboard a white Suzuki multicab with plate number MAB 2431 and traveling along the national highway in Tulunan village when ambushed by unidentified gunmen at around 3:45 p.m.
Lacsasa said the victims were identified through their identification cards.
They were Patrolman First Class Heredin K. Kanakan of Barangay Sta Cruz, Koronadal City; Heredin Kamidon of Cotabato City; Fatima Usman of Muntinlupa City; and a still unidentified woman.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) found 14 empty shells for M-16 rifle and caliber .45 pistol.
Police found three sachets of suspected shabu inside the vehicle of the victims.
Motive of the attack remained unknown while police investigation continues.
