MANILA, Philippines — Over 2,000 more people in the Philippines have contracted Covid-19 while more than 11,000 others have recovered from the disease, the Department of Health (DOH) said Sunday.
The 2,103 new Covid-19 cases brought the total of cases in the country to 525,618, with 27,318 of them considered active.
Meanwhile, the 11,653 new recoveries brought the total number of recoveries to 487,551, according to the DOH’s daily bulletin.
The DOH also logged 80 more fatalities, increasing the death toll to 10,749.
Majority or 87.7% of the active cases have mild symptoms, 5.5% are asymptomatic, 2.8% are having severe symptoms, while 3.3% are in critical condition.
DOH said it removed one duplicate from the total case count, which was a recovered case.
Meanwhile, five cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths.
Ten labs were not able to submit their data on Jan. 30.
