Covid-19 cases now at 518,407 with 2,245 new infections

MANILA, Philippines — The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country is now at 518,407 with 2,245 new infections, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday.

Of the total cases, 32,384 are active cases, where 84.5 percent are mild, 9.2 percent are asymptomatic, 3.4 percent are critical, 2.4 percent are severe and 0.48 percent are moderate.

The DOH also reported 148 new recoveries and 95 new deaths, bringing the total to 475,542 and 10,481, respectively.

There were three duplicates, of which one was a recovery removed from the total case count.

“In addition, one case was found to have tested negative and has been removed from the total case count,” the DOH said.

“Moreover, 19 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the agency added.
