Generally fair Monday weather nationwide – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The tail-end of a frontal system and the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers to Northern Luzon, while the rest of the country will have fair weather on Monday, according to the state weather bureau.
Based on the 4 a.m. weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the tail-end of a frontal system will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao and Aurora.
The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, will bring cloudy skies with light rains to Batanes and Babuyan Islands, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the Ilocos region, Abra and Benguet.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
Isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, however, may occur in the afternoon and evening, according to Pagasa.
Visayas and Mindanao may also experience isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
“Sa Kabisayaan, magkakaroon pa rin ng mainit at maalinsangang panahon subalit pagdating ng hapon at gabi, posible pa rin ang mga isolated thunderstorms,” Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said.
(In Visayas, there will be hot and humid weather but isolated thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon and evening.)
“Sa buong Mindanao, magiging maaliwalas pa rin ang ating panahon. Medyo maalinsangan, subalit pagdating ng hapon at gabi, mas malamang ang magkaroon ng isolated thunderstorms,” he added.
(There will be fair weather in Mindanao. The weather will be humid, but isolated thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon and evening.)
