PH Covid-19 cases rise to 513,619; new recoveries now at 7,729

MANILA, Philippines — The total number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines reached 513,619 with 1,949 new infections, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Sunday.

There were also 7,729 new recoveries and 53 additional deaths, bringing the total to 475,612 and 10,242, respectively.

Of the total number of cases, 27,765 are active cases, where 83.3 percent are mild, 9.1 percent are asymptomatic, 4.4 percent are critical, 2.7 percent are severe and 0.53 percent are moderate.

The DOH noted that there were eight duplicates, of which one was a recovery and one was a fatality, that were removed from the total case count.

There was also one case found to be tested negative, and was also removed from the total case count.

“Moreover, two cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said.
