LUCENA CITY – The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) death toll this month in Quezon jumped to 27 with the death of two more patients on Friday and Saturday.

The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), in its latest report Saturday morning, said the latest deaths were reported in  Calauag and Lucban.

The overall Covid-19 death toll in Quezon rose to 214. Lucena City, the provincial capital, has the most number of fatalities with 53.

Quezon, which is under modified general community quarantine, had recorded a total of 6,762 COVID-19 cases with 6,157 recoveries as of Saturday.

The province has 391 remaining active virus carriers.
