LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a 56-year-old welder in Tiaong, Quezon Friday night for illegal possession of a firearm after he threatened his own daughter. Tiaong police reported that Cesar Rivera was caught with an undocumented .9mm caliber pistol inside his residence in Barangay Talisay around 6:50 p.m. Initial investigation showed that prior to the arrest, the suspect’s daughter Lovely called the local police station and informed the authorities that she was being threatened by her father with a handgun. Responding policemen arrested the suspect and seized the loaded firearm. The suspect was detained at the police jail and will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
