MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, is forecast to experience warmer weather during the weekend due to the weakening of the northeast monsoon and the shifting of the tail end of the frontal system.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 4 p.m. bulletin that, due to the upward shift, warm air from the Pacific Ocean was blowing into parts of Luzon.
A maximum temperature of up to 31 degrees Celsius is expected in Southern Luzon.
Fair weather is forecast in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, but cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are expected in Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley, said weather specialist Raymond Ordinario.
The Ilocos region is also forecast to be rainy on Saturday due to a low pressure spotted 280 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales. Fair weather is expected to prevail in the Visayas and Mindanao. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
