3 co-passengers of Filipino infected UK COVID-19 variant test negative

BACOLOD CITY –– At least three persons from this city, who were co-passengers of the 29-year-old Filipino real estate agent infected with the more infectious United Kingdom (UK) COVID-19 variant, tested negative for COVID-19.

Dr. Chris Sorongon, Bacolod Emergency Operations Center medical deputy for data analysis and assessment, said all three tested negative for COVID-19 in Manila on Jan. 8, but were retested in Bacolod on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Results of the second test showed they were negative of the virus.

“As soon as they finish their 14-day home quarantines along with their families, the sealing off of their houses will be lifted by their respective barangay officials after they are cleared by cluster doctors,” he said.

Two of them are from Barangay Estefania, while one is from Barangay Tangub.
