PIKIT, COTABATO –– A 21-year-old woman was shot dead around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the terminal for public utility vehicles in the town center here.
Lt. Joseph Bacquisa Letigio, Pikit police chief of police, said Baimojera Salilaguia Sulaiman, 21, a resident of Talitay village, was sitting at the terminal when an unidentified gunman approached and shot her with a handgun in different parts of her body.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating the motive of the attack and the identity of the assailant, said Letigio.
Several months ago, a wave of killings rocked the town. Most of the killings have remained unsolved.
