MANILA, Philippines — More than 700 health workers have been trained as vaccinators to prepare for mass inoculation against Covid-19 in Taguig City, the local government said Wednesday.
In a statement, the Taguig government said 716 medical frontline workers, composed of doctors, nurses and midwives, were trained by the city health office from January 18 to January 19.
Once the mass immunization starts, the city health office will deploy its vaccination teams at three mega vaccine facilities and community vaccination centers in every village.
The city government said it is also open to training more medical frontline workers for Covid-19 vaccinations if needed.
Taguig previously announced that it allocated P1 billion funds for the free vaccination of Taguigeños.
As of Tuesday, Taguig logged a total of 11,012 total number of Covid-19 infections. Of the number, 43 are active cases, 10,791 are recoveries and 178 are deaths.
