MANILA, Philippines—Two witnesses of the prosecution team were called back to the witness stand on Thursday for cross-examination by the defense team.

Carlo Alcantara and Sedfrey Garcia, the registers of deeds of Quezon City and Marikina City, were cross-examined by defense lawyer Ramon Esguerra though they were only made to confirm some documents they previously presented to the Senate sitting as an impeachment court.

The two already appeared and testified last January 19  in connection with properties in Quezon City and Marikina City allegedly owned by Chief Justice Renato Corona, who has been accused of failing to declare all his properties in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).

Corona’s alleged failure to disclose his SALN was one of eight articles of impeachment filed against him by 188 members of the House of Representatives.
