Filipinos age 14 to 25 are invited to join the first ever Ramon Magsaysay Youth Video Competition titled “180 Seconds,” which carries the theme “Greatness of Spirit.”
“Greatness of Spirit” is embodied by President Ramon Magsaysay, who died in a tragic plane crash 63 years ago. His legacy of servant leadership has been enshrined in the Ramon Magsaysay Award—Asia’s premier prize.
“‘Greatness of Spirit’ signifies a passionate commitment to a chosen purpose that serves the common good. We are talking of selfless human beings, the Ramon Magsaysay awardees, who are recognized by their ability to inspire others to join them in their quest,” said Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation trustee and social scientist Randy David.
This year’s video competition focuses on how creative young minds see greatness of spirit by selecting a Ramon Magsaysay awardee, and telling the story of an ordinary person whose work reflects what the awardee has done via a three-minute scripted video.
Applicants must register at rmaward.asia and submit their entries by email to rmyvc@rmaf.org.ph. Deadline for submission is on Feb. 26.
