ROXAS, Isabela –The Tabuk City government has imposed a 14-day lockdown on four city villages starting Jan. 18 due to the rising number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.
At least 67 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in Tabuk City on Saturday, Jan. 16, forcing Mayor Darwin Estrañero to restrict movements in the villages of Bulanao Norte, Bulanao Centro, Agbannawag, and Bado Dangwa.
“An enhanced community quarantine will be observed in these barangays and we’re advising all residents to stay at home and avoid gatherings for the health officials to do the needed contact tracing, testing, and assessment,” Estrañero told the Inquirer in a text message on Sunday.
The Kalinga provincial capitol building was temporarily closed on Jan. 15 to give way to massive disinfection.
On Friday, a virus-infected 61-year-old man in Bulanao village died. The patient, who had no known travel history, showed symptoms of the disease and suffered from diabetes and hypertension.
