Ailing woman found dead
A 61-YEAR-OLD old woman was found hanging dead in her house in barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
Police said Rosela Cabigon used a housedress to hang herself.
There were no signs of foul play in the woman’s death. Police said a supposed suicide note was found in the house where Cabigon expressed how she was depressed over her illness. The woman’s leg had been amputated because of diabetes.
PO3 Ruth Violango, homicide investigator of the Cebu City police, said that Cabigon’s daughter-in-law went to her house to switch off the lights when she found the victim hanging by the neck around 7 a.m.

Police round up dispatchers
POLICE rounded up at least 22 jeepney dispatchers and car watchers around Cebu City yesterday as part of ’Oplan Disiplina.’
Senior Supt. Melvin Buenafe, Cebu city police chief, said there were several complaints that dispatchers and car watchers were harassing jeepney drivers and passengers.
They were cited for violation of the city’s anti-dispatching ordinance and will be made to pay a fine or submit a counter-affidavit to the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.
Police in Lapu-Lapu City have also stepped up their campaign.
Senior Supt. Anthony Obenza, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City police, ordered his men go after illegal dispatchers who are collecting fees from taxi and jeepney drivers in terminals and in loading and unloading areas.
Lapu-Lapu Mayor Paz Radaza said she would ask police to go to terminals to apprehend illegal dispatchers.
Mall security guards were also reportedly involved in dispatching.
