2 drug suspects fall in Quezon, over P1 M shabu seized

LUCENA CITY – Police seized shabu (crystal meth) estimated to be worth more than P1 million and an illegal firearm from two drug suspects in separate operations in Candelaria town on Friday and Saturday.

The Quezon police reported that its anti-narcotics agents collared Elmer Suba, 38, after he sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in a drug deal inside a subdivision in Barangay  Masalukot around 8 p.m. Friday.

The suspect yielded 13 plastic sachets containing 42.49 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of over P866,000.

Suba, an ex-drug convict who was released following a plea bargaining agreement with the court, was also found carrying an undocumented .45 caliber pistol.

The Candelaria police also nabbed Ramir Marasigan, 42, in an operation in Barangay Buenavista West around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities confiscated eight sachets of shabu weighing 15.97 grams with a street value of P325,788.

The suspects will face a complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Suba will also face a complaint for illegal possession of firearm.
