MANILA, Philippines — The master list of Covid-19 vaccine recipients is expected to be completed by the end of January, vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. told senators on Friday.
During the Senate’s hearing into the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination program, several senators asked officials regarding the list of individuals set to receive their vaccine shot based on the inoculation priority set by the government.
In terms of sectors, the government has earlier identified healthcare workers, uniformed personnel, and indigent citizens as a priority for vaccination.
“So that we will have good data, the LGUs (local government units) are the ones making the master list and the master list will be submitted to us on Jan. 30,” Galvez said.
He said they will be visiting LGUs starting next week to “validate all the listings.”
“We’ll also check their early preparation,” he added.
The Philippines is eyeing to administer the first vaccine shots of Covid-19 by the end of February.
This, after the national government secured vaccines from China’s Sinovac, the Serum Institute of India, and AstraZeneca.
Several LGUs have also announced sealing deals to procure vaccines developed by AstraZeneca.
