THE Rama Boys skippered by Jingjing Rama crushed AC Sports of Archie Baba, 83-73, Tuesday night to capture the championship of the Villa Shipping Sinulog Cup-2012 Intercolor basketball tournament at the USC gym.
The Rama Boys led by just one point at the first quarter, 17-16 then outscored AC Sports, 20-16 in the 2nd canto for a 5-point lead, 37-32, at the half.
Rama Boys increased their advantage to seven points, 61-54 going to the fourth quarter where they consummated the 10-point win.
Noel Talas and Kelvin Sinco led the Rama Boys with 20 and 17 points, respectively while Jingjing Rama and Clark Rama combined for 28 markers. Benjie Orquias and Lucky Torrefiel paced the losing AC Sports with 21 and 12 points, respectively.
In the battle for third, Jason Chua and Rany Cabañero scored 20 and 19 points, respectively to lift Villa Shipping-Yellow past Villa Shipping-Red, 70-66.
It was a double celebration for Noel Talas as he romped off with the MVP award and automatically made it to the Mythical Five selection alongside Jingjing Rama, Kelvin Sinco, Benjie Loquias and Lucky Torrefiel.
Other awardees include Edsel Go (Most Improved Player), Clark Rama (Best in Defensive Rebound), Jingjing Rama (3-Point King), Jason Chua (Best Center), Tony Go and Mario Gaw (Sportsmanship Awards).
