CTU students get cash incentives

FIFTEEN Advance Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from Cebu Technological University (CTU) Tuburan campus received cash incentives of P8,000 to P12,000 for continuing the Advance ROTC course.
The awarding of cash incentives was done during the school’s university week from Jan. 24 to 27 at the school campus in Tuburan, northwestern Cebu.
The ceremony was witnessed by school administration and staff headed by campus director Dr. Pedrito Pontillas.

Almadilla Piñero, mother of Cadet 1st Class Meriel Piñero, expressed her gratitude to the military and the government, saying the cash incentives was a great help to them.

The mother said they will use the money to pay for the tuition fee of her daughter worth around P7,000 per semester.

Meriel received P8,000 cash as she belonged in Category C. It was the second time for her to receive the cash benefits.

Other beneficiaries are Cadets 1st Class Reylan Colegado, Ryan Rebuyas, Nori Jean Jorquia, Clavel Allego, Joemark Dichos, Nagisa Allego, Akie Cansancio, Yandemae Condiman, Felix Lonzaga, Rocel Gallardo, Al-Lea Kathleen Villanueva and senior cadet officers Anamy Cabatuan, Juliet Densing and Joemarco Cortez.

After finishing the Basic ROTC, students may proceed to Advance ROTC.

Those qualified shall maintain a general average of 91 percent and above to receive P12,000 per semester (category A), 86 percent to 90 percent to receive P10,000 per semester (category B) and 83 to 85 percent  to get P8,000 (category C).

After finishing the Advance ROTC, the cadets are required to take the Provisionary Officer Training Course (POTC) to become Commissioned Officer of the Philippine Army with the rank of second lieutenant.

Lt. Col. Jerry Lim, Group Commander, 3rd Civil Relations Group, Armed Forces of the Philippines and ROTC Commandant, said this laudable program of the Philippine Army will encourage the youth to pursue a military career. It will ensure continuous flow of reserve officers.
