TUGUEGARAO CITY—A retired Army soldier in Lasam town, Cagayan province has been indicted for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition on Wednesday (Jan. 13) after a raid inside his house, police said.

The retired soldier was identified as Romano Bergonia, alias Alex, who was not in his house during the search, said Col. Ariel Quilang, Cagayan police director.

Seized from Bergonia’s house at the village of Callao were a .45-caliber pistol, bullets, a hand grenade, an empty magazine and five alloy-point bullets.

The former soldier remained at large, according to police.
