Engineer nabbed over illegal logging in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY –– A 52-year-old government worker was arrested for alleged illegal logging along a riverbank in Pamplona, Cagayan on Wednesday, Jan. 13, police said.

Police discovered the stocked sawn lumber in Barangay Abbangkeruan and later seized these.

The suspect was identified as Felicimo Bilas, municipal engineer of Pamplona and a resident of Barangay Allasitan.

Bilas admitted to owning the lumber. He would be charged with violation of the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
