DAGUPAN CITY—Police in the province of Ilocos Sur on Monday (Jan. 11) destroyed marijuana plants and seedlings worth P2.7 million.

A marijuana plantation was found in the boundary shared by Sugpon town in Ilocos Sur and Kibungan town in Benguet.

Police said some 13,200 fully grown marijuana and 300 seedlings were uprooted on the nearly 2,650 square meters land.

The uprooted marijuana plants were burned on site, with samples taken by the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency’s regional office to be used as evidence.
