2 elderly sisters yield P770k meth in Lucena bust

LUCENA CITY –– Two sisters yielded over P770,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation here Tuesday morning, police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said Gloria De Chavez, 61, and her sibling, Zenaida, 60, both residents of Barangay Mayao Crossing, were arrested after they sold shabu to an undercover police at 10:10 a.m.

Authorities seized 38 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P258,400. The police said the meth was worth P775,200 in the street market.

Both suspects are on the city’s list of drug pushers and had previous drug cases.

The suspects are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
