4 dead in Laguna shooting incident
SAN PEDRO CITY –– Four people, one of them allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade, were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in a tarpaulin printing and automobile shop in Biñan City, Laguna.
Lieutenant Colonel Giovanni Martinez, Biñan City police chief, on Monday, said the shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. Sunday in Barangay San Vicente.
One of the victims, James Anthony Alon-alon, 40, a resident of Barangay dela Paz, also in Biñan City, was the leader of an eponymous drug gang in the city.
He was arrested for illegal drug sales in the adjacent city of Sta. Rosa in 2018 but the court dismissed this charge.
The other victims were Jason Mangahis, a resident of Sta. Rosa City, and Carlo and Custer Tanael. It was not clear how the Tanaels were related.
The police said the four men were in a tarpaulin printing and auto shop when at least eight men barged into the establishment and shot them.
There was no other information on the suspects at the moment, except that they fled immediately after the incident.
The victims were taken to the Ospital ng Biñan but died later.
