Elderly man in Cagayan dies from COVID-19
TUGUEGARAO CITY — A 63-year-old man was the latest patient with the coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) to die in Cagayan province, authorities said.
Dr. Glenn Matthew Baggao, Cagayan Valley Medical Center chief, said the fatality was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 28. He also suffered from pneumonia, hypertension, and other illnesses.
The man, a native of Barangay Nabaccayan in Gattaran town, was the 22nd COVID-19-related fatality in the province since the pandemic struck the country in March last year.
His remains were buried on Sunday as part of the health protocols.
Baggao said the man’s wife, who also contracted the virus, remained confined at the hospital.
