At 10.4 °C, Baguio gets coldest morning this Amihan season
BAGUIO CITY — The city on Sunday experienced the coldest morning yet this Amihan season, weather observers from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) here said.
According to Pagasa, the morning temperature dropped to 10.4 degrees Celsius at 6:30 a.m.
The nippy weather was caused by the prevailing northeast monsoon or “hanging amihan,” which blows from Siberia and peaks between January and February.
Last year, the coldest temperature recorded here was at 9.4°C degrees, the lowest so far in the last three years.
The coldest temperature ever recorded here was on Jan. 18, 1961 at 6.3° C.
