MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rains and thunderstorms, along with cloudy skies will prevail in Eastern and Central Visayas on Sunday due to the tail-end of a frontal system, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) likewise warned of possible flash floods and landslides in vulnerable, rain-affected areas.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, which is affecting Luzon, will cause cloudy skies with light rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol region and Quezon.
It will likewise bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will also prevail over Western Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
Luzon will have moderate to strong winds in the northeast direction, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Moderate to strong winds from east to northeast will also be experienced over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao with moderate to rough coastal conditions.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from east to northeast and slight to moderate coastal waters, Pagasa said.
