Manhunt vs escaped suspect in Ermita drug bust ongoing — PDEG

MANILA, Philippines — A manhunt operation was launched against alias Ish Aguilar, who escaped during a buy-bust operation in Ermita, Manila  Friday morning, Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group said Saturday.

In a phone interview, PDEG Public Information Office chief Lieutenant Colonel Cherry Donato said operatives are still hunting down Aguilar, who is a suspected accomplice of alias Kuya, who died during the drug bust.

In a report from PDEG chief Brigadier General Ronald Lee, alias Kuya was killed during an armed encounter with lawmen along Riverside Drive in Lawton at 12:25 a.m.

Recovered in the crime scene were ecstasy with estimated value of P1,360,000; shabu worth P340,000; caliber .45 pistol; and P5,000 marked money.

Donato said Aguilar is also the live-in partner of detained suspect Khrystyn Almario Pimentel, 30.

Pimentel was arrested during an anti-drug operation at Cainta, San Andres, Rizal on Jan. 7, Thursday, at 3 p.m.

PDEG operatives discovered a clandestine meth laboratory and seized ecstasy worth P3.4 million; marijuana worth P60,000 and shabu worth P6.8 million.

Pimentel is staying at PDEG while appropriate charges are being readied against her.
