MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) spotted near Surigao City has dissipated, and the country is forecast to be storm-free in the next three days, the weather bureau said on Friday.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA they were monitoring had dissipated.

But scattered rain and thunderstorms will be experienced in Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas due to the persisting tail end of a frontal system, or the clash of cold and warm air masses.

The surge of the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will still be felt in Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.
