Heavy rains cause landslide in Southern Leyte village, flood in Northern Samar town

TACLOBAN CITY –– Heavy rains triggered a landslide in a village in Sogod, Southern Leyte, and flooded Allen town in Northern Samar on Friday morning.

The Southern Leyte disaster management office reported that the landslide did not cause major damage.

The office immediately coordinated with the Department of Public Works and Highways for clearing operations.

The heavy rains that caused massive flooding in Allen affected several residents.

The local disaster management office is still monitoring and assessing the extent of the damage caused by the flood as of posting time.
