6 men arrested while selling 2 stolen motorcycles
MANILA, Philippines—Six men were caught in the act of selling two stolen motorcycles to undercover agents in La Trinidad, Benguet by elements of the Philippine National Police’ Highway Patrol Group (HPG), the police said Wednesday.
The HPG director, Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina, said the six were arrested in an entrapment operation at Km. 4 in Pico by HPG Cordillera intelligence operatives led by Senior Supt. Roel Obusan, HPG regional chief.
Arrested were Augusto Tabara, 32, of Sto Tomas, La Union; John Gregory Paltikan, 31, of Kias, Baguio City; Ranil Gundangan, 19, of Mankayan, Benguet; Edmond Ackoy, 21, and AJ Leomhell Ngateg, 19, both of Irisan, Baguio City; and John Pasion, 23, of East Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
They tried to sell a Motorstar 125 with plate number UQ3684 and an American Eagle Scooter with plate number IB 1187, investigators said.
Investigation showed that the two were reported stolen on Jan. 28 at the Pinsao Proper BC from owner Alfred Pudsoc. The suspects were to be charged with car theft, Espina said.
