24 missing fishermen rescued off Bolinao
MANILA, Philippines – Twenty-four not 26 fishermen who have been reported missing since Tuesday have been rescued, a defense official said Friday.
The fishing vessel, F/B 3MS WOF, was found at around 12 noon Friday at 38 nautical miles northwest of Bolinao by the Navy islander airplane, said Director Andrew Alex Uy of Region 1 Office of Civil Defense.
The fishermen were found alive and were wearing life jackets while their ship was found within the area. There were only 24 fishermen and not 26, Uy clarified.
The MV Sea Palacecargo, which was nearby, was asked to help pick up the fishermen and carry them to Fort Vicente in Bolinao.
