Bocaue, Bulacan mayor, councilor test positive for COVID-19

In his Facebook account, Bocaue Mayor Jose Santiago Jr.  on Wednesday announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is undergoing self-quarantine.

BOCAUE, Bulacan – The mayor and a councilor of this town have contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), even as the municipal hall was temporarily locked down on Wednesday.

Mayor Jose Santiago Jr. and Councilor Aldrin Sta. Ana both tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a swab tests at the Joni Villanueva Molecular Laboratory facility here.

Santiago said he had been exposed to an infected individual.

It was not clear how Sta. Ana contracted COVID-19.

Both are asymptomatic and are on self- quarantine in their respective homes.
