MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Sunday fumed at a telecommunications firm that has been failing to provide him internet connection for over four days.
“Our converge internet connection has been down for 4 days now. I’m getting rid of it! @DICTgovph,” Sotto wrote in a tweet.

In a Viber message to reporters, Sotto compared his faulty internet connection with another internet provider, which he said: “works even during bad weather.”
According to the Speed Test Global Index, the Philippines is lagging in internet connection speed.
The country ranked 121st out of 139 nations in terms of mobile internet speed. The Philippines also landed 110th place out of 174 countries in fixed broadband speed.
