SUBIC, Zambales — The bound remains of a man, believed to be the victim of summary execution, was found on Snake Island here on New Year’s Day.

The body was spotted by a boatman at a rocky section of the island in Barangay Calapacuan at around 11 a.m. He immediately reported the discovery to local authorities who retrieved the body of Hasanur Ampaso.

The man, whose hands and feet were tied, was identified by his wife. Wounds were observed all over the remains of Ampaso, who was clad in Khaki long pants and a black leather jacket.

Ampaso’s family refused an autopsy in accordance with Islamic tradition. The police have yet to establish why the man was killed.
