Former Cebu town mayoral bet shot dead

CEBU CITY– A 2019 candidate for mayor of San Fernando, Cebu was shot dead ad New Year’s Day along Fulton Street in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Five unidentified gunmen were involved in the killing of Ruben Feliciano, said Police Captain Francis Renz Talosig, Police Station 4 chief.

The victim’s nephew  was wounded in the attack and was brought to hospital.

Feliciano was walking near his residence at Blue Garden Residences when he was shot.

The gunmen fled aboard a white van without a license plates after the attack.

Talosig said further investigation is ongoing to establish the motive of the attack and identify the perpetrators. 

Feliciano ran for mayor in 2019 polls but lost to Mayor Lakambini Reluya, who survived an ambush in he same year.
