MANILA, Philippines — A graduating cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) has been ordered dismissed by
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas for allegedly mauling another senior cadet on New Year’s Eve in Camp Castañeda, Silang, Cavite.
Sinas has also ordered the filing of administrative charges against Cadet 1st Class Denvert Dulansi.
He also directed the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) to place all cadets involved in the incident under restriction while termination and dismissal proceedings are underway by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).
“The PNP has no tolerance for wrongdoings of erring personnel, and will never tolerate any misconduct, abuse or breach of discipline,” Sinas said in a statement.
The PNP said that based on an initial investigation, Dulansi allegedly mauled Cadet 1st Class Joab Mar Nacnas at the roof deck of a school building at around 11 p.m. on Dec. 31.
Cadet Nacnas accosted Cadet Dulansi and two other cadets, Cadet 1st Class Guminigin and Cadet 1st Class Tudlong, who were said to be consuming alcoholic beverages at the roof deck.
This led to a heated argument, after which Dulansi allegedly mauled Nacnas, PNP said.
Nacnas was rushed by a PNPA ambulance to the nearby Qualimed Hospital for treatment.
At around 1:45 a.m. on January 1, Nacnas was listed in stable condition with no signs of internal injury based on CT scan and X-ray examinations.
Dulansi, meanwhile, was turned over to the Silang Municipal Police Station for investigation, PNP said.
