3 dead in motorcycle collisions in Ilocos Sur

BAGUIO CITY –– Three people died in two separate collisions involving motorcycles in Ilocos Sur, police said on Friday.

The collision at Barangay San Roque in Santiago town at 1 a.m. on Friday claimed the lives of Keith Bongolan Borja, 17, and Charles John Flordeliza, 45.

Investigators said Borja was driving his motorcycle, with his cousin at the passenger seat, when he lost control of it and occupied the opposite lane. They crashed against the approaching motorcycle driven by Flordeliza.

Both Borja and Flordeliza were declared dead upon arrival at a hospital. Borja’s cousin suffered injuries.

Police said Borja was drunk.

Earlier on Wednesday night, another road mishap occurred at Barangay Caburao , also in Santiago town, killing one person.

Wendel Roldan, 25, a resident of Barangay Langlangca First, Candon City, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

The police said Roldan lost control of his motorcycle and encroached on the other lane of the road before hitting the motorcycle driven by Dennis Antonio, 23, at 10:50 p.m.

Antonio and Roldan’s passenger were undergoing treatment.
