Comelec: Voter registration resumes on January 4

MANILA, Philippines — Were you planning to become a registered voter but feared that you missed out this 2020?

Aspiring voters still have time to register as the Commission on Elections will resume voter registration on January 4, Comelec spokesman James Jimenez said Wednesday.

“If you missed the last day of#VoterReg2020, don’t despair just yet. #VoterRegistration will resume on January 4, 2021.#MakeAPlanToRegister then,” Jimenez said in a tweet.

In an earlier advisory, Comelec said that voter registration is conducted from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., while Fridays are scheduled for disinfection unless a local government unit prescribes a different disinfection day.

“The public is reminded that anti-COVID-19 protocols are being strictly imposed in all Comelec offices,” the advisory stated.

The suspension was then extended several times, the last of which was until Aug. 31.
