LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested two suspected peddlers of “shabu” (crystal meth) in buy-bust operations here early Tuesday and Monday, police said.
Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, in a report said anti-narcotics operatives collared Fernando Atienza, 58, after he sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay Market View at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities seized six plastic sachets of shabu worth P20,190 in the street market.
Earlier, a police team nabbed Mark Joseph Campomanes, 37, in another drug sting operation in Barangay Ilayang Iyam at 10:50 p.m. on Monday.
The suspect yielded four sachets of meth worth P13,000 among drug users.
Reformed drug users in the villages tipped off the suspected drug pushing activities to the police.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
