Security guard dies in motorcycle-van collision in Subic Freeport

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT –– A security guard died after his motorcycle collided head-on with a van along the Rizal Highway in this free port on Monday morning.

The victim, Amado Fariñas, 44, a resident of Barangay Aglao in San Marcelino, Zambales, was traveling along the Rizal Argonaut intersection when he rammed into an oncoming Toyota Hi-ace.

The van, which was driven by Jomar Sendin, 33, was turning left to the Watercraft Ventures when he hit the victim, investigators said.

Fariñas suffered multiple body injuries and died on the spot.

Sendin was detained at the Olongapo City Jail pending the filing of charges against him.
