Año: Only 1 member of Cabinet received COVID vaccine shot from China
MANILA, Philippines — Only one member of the Cabinet was inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine from China, Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año clarified Tuesday.
Año previously bared that some Cabinet members, as well as of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), received the vaccine.
“I’d like to correct myself, I only know just one member of Cabinet,” he said in an interview over ANC’s “Matters of Fact.”
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) chief, however, added: “But I cannot disclose his identity because I don’t want to violate his right to privacy.”
Asked if the Cabinet member was given the vaccine from Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinopharm, Año said: “I’m not actually sure of the vaccine, but I think the President mentioned it’s Sinopharm.”
