883 new COVID-19 cases bring PH tally to 469,886

Testing always a priority, insists Palace despite Duterte’s ‘late realization’ on its value

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s total number of coronavirus disease cases reached 469,886 after the Department of Health recorded 883 new infections on Sunday.

The DOH likewise recorded 7,635 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 438,678.

This also brought the number of active cases down to 22,099.

Meanwhile, 42 patients succumbed to the deadly respiratory disease, raising the country’s death toll to 9,109.

The DOH also said that two duplicates were removed from the total case count, which were recovered cases.

Meanwhile, 10 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
