Eleven people, including a 3-year-old boy, were injured after the driver of a passenger jeepney lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a fire hydrant in Antipolo City on Monday night.
The driver who was identified as Renato Camu, 36, a resident of Antipolo City, has been arrested and charged with reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and damage to property, Police Officefr 2 Ginnie San Antonio of the Antipolo police said in his report.
According to San Antonio, the jeepney with plate number DML 197 was traveling on Marcos Highway around 8:30 p.m. on Monday when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle.
The jeepney swerved to the right side of the road, climbed up the sidewalk and rammed a fire hydrant.
The accident left 11 passengers injured. Taken to Amang Rodriguez Hospital in Marikina City for treatment were Ryan Ramirez, 26; Melanie Cruz, 49; Gemma Roxas, 43; Lealyn Dula, 27; Marvee Antipolo, 28; Ray Sales, 20; Zenaida Nicolas, 39; Estella Peninsoro, 46; John Sian, 3; Ryan Sian, 24; and Jennifer de los Santos, 29.
