Duterte to veto parts of 2021 budget law
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte will veto parts of the P4.5-trillion General Appropriations Act of 2021, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said on Friday, days ahead of the law’s expected signing on Monday.
Roque said he could not discuss which provisions would be vetoed but said these had come from the recommendations of the Department of Budget and Management.
Earlier, Sen. Panfilo Lacson called on the President to veto double and overlapping appropriations in the budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways. —LEILA B. SALAVERRIA
