Magnitude 4.3 quake rocks Occidental Mindoro
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.3 earthquake hit Occidental Mindoro on Friday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake struck at 4:37 p.m. at 15 kilometers west of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro.
The quake was of tectonic origin and had a four-kilometer depth of focus.
Intensity I was felt in Calatagan, Batangas, which was also earlier rattled by a magnitude 6.3 tremor.
State seismologists said no aftershocks are expected from the earthquake.
Aside from the magnitude 6.3 earthquake that shook several parts of Luzon this morning, Phivolcs also recorded a magnitude 5.3 earthquake that rocked Davao Occidental. [ac]
