UPDATE: GCash services back; affected transactions to be fixed

MANILA, Philippines — Online wallet application GCash restored its services on Thursday after an hour of suspension.

“GCash Services are now restored. You may have experienced problems using the GCash App earlier. All GCash services are now restored. We recommend clearing your cache to avoid any login issues,” read the tweet.

The mobile application said it would fix those with affected transactions during the suspension. GCash said it will be processed within the next 24 hours.

Earlier, GCash temporarily suspended its services hours before Christmas Eve, causing users to complain online.

“GCash services are temporarily unavailable. We are working hard to restore the service as soon as possible. For affected transactions, please be rest assured that funds are safe and will be processed within the next 24 hours,” read the advisory issued on Thursday.

As of posting, GCash’s post received hundreds of complaints from social media users.

“Anong oras na matatapos ang maintenance nyo po? Ilang oras na lang mag papasko na, wag nyo naman ako sana pakainin ng delata sa noche buena PLEASE lang wala na kong ma eat,” a Twitter user said.

(Until when will this maintenance end? A few hours later and it’s Christmas. Please don’t make us eat canned goods during Noche Buena. Please, I don’t have food.)

“Paano ako mamasko nyan (How can I celebrate Christmas then?),” another social media user said.

“Wrong timing to ah (This is wrong timing),” another tweet read.[ac]
