LUCENA CITY — The police chief of Dolores, Quezon province, was relieved from his post after holding a “fellowship” at the municipal police station on Dec. 19, which was caught on video and posted on social media by an employee of the local social welfare office.
Police Capt. Joseph Ian Java also earned the ire of Dolores Mayor Orlan Calayag after the police officer barged into the social welfare office to confront an employee who posted the video.
Calayag on Wednesday said he asked for Java’s relief.
“We received reports that Java and some policemen had some sort of a party, a fellowship at the police station. That is a violation of the safety protocols,” said Police Col. Audie Madrideo, provincial police director. —DELFIN T. MALLARI JR.
