MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte will sign the proposed P4.5-trillion national budget for 2021 in a ceremony on Dec. 28, Malacañang said Tuesday.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the signing will take place in Duterte’s hometown Davao City before 10 members of both houses of Congress.
“Kahapon po nilinaw, (Dec.) 28 ang pirmahan. ‘Yan po ay gagawin sa Davao. Meron pong limang taga-Kamara de Representante and limang taga Senado na dadalo doon sa signing of budget,” Roque said in a televised Palace press briefing.
The Palace initially eyed to have the 2021 budget signed before Christmas.
